Bringing City & Guilds examinations to the learners...
One of our services is to provide and support laptop networks for academic organisations, designed so that tutors can set them up 'in-situ', meaning learners can take official City & Guilds examinations in the comfort of their usual learning venue.

By landing on this page you probably already know about the GOLA system produced by Pearson Vue and possibly already use it in your organisation on fixed networks. GOLA (Global Online Assessments) is widely used to enable learners to take exams from a range of authorised qualification bodies (such as City & Guilds) in a computerised environment. We have a specific solution using this system so that your tutors can bring exams to their learners' venues in a simple reliable way.
Cheshire County Council use the system for their Adult and Community Learning and Family Education Departments along with their blended learning system which we host and support for them. This enables them to administer City & Guilds qualifications to their learners in a simple, robust fashion using fast and reliable technology. We would be happy to give you references.
The exams take place on laptops which are taken out to a learners' venue and connected together in-situ by a non-technical tutor. No Internet connection is required at the venue. The learners simply take the exam and the results are uploaded to City and Guilds once the computers are returned to base. An intuitive process for which Cheshire County Council have been receiving much recognition since 2005. We are the people who provide this solution, and we can provide it for you too.
