VLE System 2010

We are in the process of putting in place our VLE system 2010 for a major Government client which will link our business intelligence systems with a virtual learning environment and social networking facilities to provide an essential resource for managers, tutors and learners. We will expect to have phase 1 in place by the beginning of the new academic term, with full integration in place by Christmas. We will give you links and demonstrations as they become available. "The VLE System 2010 is a solution designed to efficiently add-to the delivery of learning services by taking advantage of up-to-date eLearning facilities using specialist feedback systems and dashboards to develop tutor and manager skills naturally and making the most of the ubiquity of social and mobile computing to engage with learners to create a highly effective learning community."

New Cloud Server coming on-line

We are completing tests and final tuning on our latest 'cloud' server which we expect to come on-line before the end of this week. This will improve the processing resources we have available as demand on our web-applications continues to increase. You should not notice any changes to web-applications you use (whether bespoke or licensed), however this infrastructure improvement paves the way for future releases and the anticipated increase in requirements as new resource intensive features become available.

System Integration Update

Much of our effort is currently going into integrating our existing MIS and On-line Learning Systems. We are working with our Government clients to take advantage of the ubiquity of social networking to raise the profile of learners' activities on the learning systems we host and to add to the social community aspect of the virtual learning environment. Managers, tutors and learning providers are also drawn to the system with its integration with live reports on critical figures affecting funding and success. We expect by bringing together all this activity onto one area learning and training on-line will have an even greater profile and so targets can reached much more effectively.
